Robert ChefitzMr. Chefitz has been in the private equity business for over 25 years. During those 25 years, Mr. Chefitz has achieved an investment track record of realized investments generating an IRR of 40% and 42% in the security sector. He began his career with Golder Thoma Cressey, where over seven years he was engaged in a number of industry research-driven investments. His knowledge of the paging, cellular telephone, and funeral home industry led to several industry roll-ups which generated investments with superior returns. He then joined Apax Partners where over the course of fifteen years he served as a General Partner in nine funds representing over $2 billion worth of capital.Security has been a core investment focus for Mr. Chefitz, resulting in several transactions including Protection One, Casi Rusco, CML, Regent Lighting, AppIntell, and Intelisec. In addition to security, Mr. Chefitz has a successful track record of investing in a broad range of industries and stages which include buyouts, expansion and venture capital opportunities. Some of these investments include Office Depot, Intermedia, Xpedite, and numerous other investments where he was a lead investor and/or director. During the last five years he has been a general partner with NJTC Venture Fund where he has led a number of investments from a broad range of industries, as diversed as software services to Cleantech materials. Mr. Chefitz has remained an active investor in private equity in his personal portfolio including AppIntell, a leading provider of fraud detection software to the mortgage industry. For the last five years he has been a partner with Mr. Falkenstein. Mr. Chefitz has worked closely with Mr. Mack in the successful sale of CML and Protection One for six years. |
