John E. Mack III
Mr. Mack is the founder of USBX, Inc., USBX Advisory Services, L.L.C., and has served on
the Board of Directors and as Chief Executive Officer since the company’s inception in April
2000. USBX is the leading investment bank to the security industry with twenty professionals
in two offices located in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Mr. Mack is responsible for the
business’s growth and overall strategic direction.
Prior to founding USBX Advisory Services, Mr. Mack served as the Chief Executive Officer and
a member of the Board of Directors of Protection One, Inc. (NYSE: POI), the nation's second l
argest provider of life safety and property monitoring services. Prior to assuming the role
of CEO, Mr. Mack held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and
Executive Vice President of Business Development, where he was involved in over 200 acquisitions
and oversaw the company’s growth from approximately 30,000 subscribers and $17 million in revenue
to more than 1.6 million subscribers, over $600 million in revenue and an enterprise value of o
ver $2 billion. Before joining Protection One, Mr. Mack was a senior executive officer with W
estec Security, Inc.
Mr. Mack earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, B.A. 1981 and his Master
in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), 1991.
Mr. Mack and Mr. Chefitz worked closely for six years together at Protection One. Mr. Mack
worked with Mr. Chefitz on the successful sale of CML.
