The Honorable Tom Ridge

He served as the first Secretary of the United States Department of Homeland Security from January 2003 through January 2005, and the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security (an Executive Office created by President Bush) from October 2001 through December 2002.
Previously, he was Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from 1995 through October 2001 and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 through 1995. He is a director of the Hershey Company, Brightpoint Corporation and Exelon Corporation.
Mr. Bailey is currently is Chairman of the Board of LaserCard Corporation. Mr. Bailey’s career spans over two decades of management experience in the high technology and security industries. He has been Chairman and CEO of Paraquis Solutions LLC (consulting and IT services) since September 2006.
Formerly, CEO and Director, Viisage Technology, Inc. (identity solutions for security credentials) from August 2002 through August, 2006. Under his four years of leadership, Viisage’s market capitalization grew from $60 million to over $1 billion. During that period the company executed nine acquisitions, eventually culminating in the formation of L1 Identity Solutions, a NYSE listed company. Mr. Bailey is a director of Telos Corp.(information technology solutions and services) since October, 2006.
Previously, from January 2001 through August 2002, Mr. Bailey served as the Chief Operating Officer of Art Technology Group, a leading provider of e-commerce software. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Mr. Bailey served for eight years as an officer in the US Navy.
Lessing “Les” Gold, Chair of the Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp Corporate Department, also co-chairs the firm’s Homeland Security & Regulatory Practice. Associated with the security industry for over 50 years, Les has represented security alarm companies in the U.S. and abroad (buyers and sellers) in nearly every major merger and acquisition transaction in the past decade.
He serves as general counsel to the California Alarm Association, advising the organization on regulatory, antitrust and liability issues, and has been honored by the Security Industry Association and the California Alarm Association for his extraordinary service to the security industry.
In addition, Les regularly advises and assists foreign and domestic companies regarding government contracts and financings, the development of new technologies, licensing and regulatory issues, and other emerging security and protective initiatives.
Mr. Grillo, an RFID industry veteran, was selected to be Chief Executive Officer, President and director of Digital Angel Corporation effective January 2, 2008. From December 2003 until joining Digital Angel Corporation, Mr. Grillo served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Technologies Division of Assa Abloy, AB, a publicly held global manufacturer in the security and lock industry.
Mr. Grillo was a long-time executive and early founder of HID Global Corp., which he joined in 1993 as National Sales Manager. He later went on to assume the positions of VP of Sales, VP of Sales and Marketing and eventually COO in charge of the international sales organizations for HID. This led up to the sale of HID to current owner Assa Abloy in January 2001, upon which Mr. Grillo was named president of HID. During the 1993 to 2000 time period, he led HID sales organization in growing the company from $3 million to $92 million in annual sales.
Mr. Grillo is a past president of the Security Industry Association, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 1979, wiht a BS degree in Finance.
Thomas D. Hays III, CTP
Mr. Hays is a Founding Principal of NHB Advisors, Inc., a leading Turnaround Management Advisory firm. During his tenure at NHB, he has provided leadership as interim Chief Executive Officer, Chairman or Advisor to the Board in a wide variety of public and private companies. He is an Honorary Inductee in the “Turnaround Management, Restructuring and Distressed Investing Industry” Hall of Fame and has extensive experience in manufacturing, distribution, operations, accounting, restructuring, refinancing, and litigation.
Previously, Mr. Hays was Chairman of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and was also Chairman of the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals and its Standards Committee. Mr. Hays is currently the Chairman of the American Red Cross, Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter. He is also involved in the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Rotary Club of Philadelphia-Paul Harris Fellow.
Mr. Hays received a BS in Accounting from the University of Minnesota. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Minnesota and Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.
Jeremy Kroll is CEO and founder of K2 Global Partners. Mr. Kroll spent nearly 11 years as an executive at Kroll, Inc., the global risk consulting and technology division of March & McLennan Companies (NYSE: MMC).
While at Kroll, he served as general manager of Kroll’s Information Security Group, now its largest division. In addition, Mr. Kroll served as Kroll’s Head of Marketing and Sales from 2002 to 2005 and was responsible for Kroll’s market repositioning as it transformed itself from a corporate investigations company into a global risk mangement and technology firm. When Kroll was acquired by March & McLennan Companies, Mr. Kroll led Kroll’s business development efforts with the Marsh and Mercer sister companies.
Mr. Kroll holds a B.A. in foreign languages and fine arts from Georgetown University. He received an MBA from TRIUM, NYU Stern School of Business.
William (“Bill”) Polk
Mr. Polk is Managing Director of the Security, Defense, and Technology lending practice within Capital One’s Commercial and Specialty Finance business.
In this role, Mr. Polk leads the team which provides financing to companies that protect life, property, and information serving the commercial, residential, and government security markets. Particular areas of the team’s focus include physical security products and services, convergence and integration services, information technology security, surveillance, public safety and corrections, and the federal, state and local homeland security marketplace.
Prior to joining Capital One in 2011, Mr. Polk served as Managing Director of CapitalSource Finance’s Security Lending Group. Prior to joining CapitalSource, Mr. Polk was a co-founder of SLP Capital, a five-time INC 500 specialty finance company focused on security industry lending which was acquired by CapitalSource in 2004.
Mr. Polk has more than 20 years of security industry debt and equity investment experience and has been involved in more than $6 billion of middle market security industry transactions.
Mr. Polk, who was inducted into the SSI Security Hall of Fame in 2010, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard University.
